“How do I get a barcode?”
- A couple of years
ago, one of our other NZ
businesses was asking that question. We had a great new product
which we were introducing to the market. Some of the retailers we were
approaching required a barcode on our product. This started our long
investigation into how to easily obtain a barcode for a small number
of different products.
We
also found that other NZ manufacturers were asking the same question
… and having the same problems finding a suitable answer.
"You
need to join a large barcodes organisation"
was the common reply. "Then pay the $$$$ to join, and the
$$$$ to buy a large batch of barcodes.”
But we only want one barcode! “Sorry, you can only buy a
large batch of barcodes - you can't buy barcodes in small quantities.”

- The cost for a single barcode number is only $49. Or as little as $39 for 10 or more barcode numbers. This is a one-off charge. There are

2 - LOCAL - We are based in NZ (Devonport), so we have good local knowledge of the use of barcodes in NZ. We also listen to feedback from our customers, so we have up-to-date knowledge of how well our barcodes are accepted in NZ. 3 - LEGAL - Our barcodes are completely legal EAN-13 format codes. They originate from GS1-US (previously know as the Uniform Code Council - UCC). You become the legal owner of any barcodes you purchase from us - you are not just paying a license fee for the right to use them.
4 - INTERNATIONAL
- We can supply barcodes to companies located in
5 - UNIQUE - Your barcode number is unique - no one else in the world will be legally using it on a retail product (or any other product). We purchase our numbers in bulk from a US company that guarantees they won't sell duplicates of their numbers. As we resell these numbers, we guarantee that we won't sell duplicate numbers - we are careful to ensure we only sell each number once.
6 - LIFE-LONG - You own your barcode number completely, and it is yours for life (& we hope you live long). If you stop making your current products, you can recycle your barcode by reusing it on a new product (just make sure you let the retailers know, so they don't get confused). If you don't need the barcode number any more, you can give it to a friend for Christmas.
7 - VERIFICATION - Some retailers in NZ & Australia require barcode verification reports for all products going in to their stores. These reports are a test scan showing how well the barcode scans, or doesn't scan. We can provide these verification reports for you, if they are needed. We are the ONLY barcode reseller (as far as we know) in NZ & Australia who can provide these verification reports for you - this increases the range of retail stores your product can be accepted in.
8 - RETAIL FORMAT
- The barcode numbers we supply
are standard EAN-13 format barcode, as used on the majority of
retail products worldwide. (We can also supply the US style UPC-A
barcode if you really want it). Our EAN-13 format barcodes can be
used on virtually all retail products, except for some pharmaceuticals.

REAL - We are real people in a real office
(small & cosy) run by a real NZ company, owned by a real charity
which helps other real people who really need it. We

10 - IMAGES
- We can supply you with the images for EAN-13 or UPC
format barcode numbers, and most other numbers too. We
create the actual barcode graphic image for you (sometimes called
the 'artwork' - although most artists wonder why). We
can also provide you with a Guarantee Certificate if required.

MORE IMAGES
– We can create the barcode images
for you if you already have a EAN, UPC,
ISBN, ISSN or other barcode number.
13 - AND MORE IMAGES – We can create ITF-14 and TUN carton codes for you, and also a variety of other barcode formats, if you need them.
